Job Description Engineer: Was, ODM, WODM, JCL VSAM Mainframe Environment Control M

* This role can sit in Raleigh, NC or Westlake, TX. Westlake is preferred if possible.

* We have a total of 4 openings (2 openings for Websphere Operations/Admin and 2 for Websphere Performance Tuning)

* At this time we will not consider H1 Transfer candidates, we will only consider direct employees that you currently work W2 with.

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain MQ and related products into the z/OS environment
• Design, Document and Deploy software solutions in the mainframe environment
• Provide advanced support for complex technical problems reported by customers and other technical teams
• Work with the software vendors and other technical partners to troubleshoot problems and implement solutions and corrective action
• Participate in periodic Disaster Recovery tests
• Participates in the evaluation, selection and piloting of new technologies
• Work with a wide range of teams across various issues, locations, and time zones
• Provide cross training to peers in the Support group
• Provide oncall support including nights/weekends/holidays on 24/7 rotating basis
• Work closely with other departments within Fidelity and act as interface between the MQ support group and the other technical teams coordinating their upgrades/projects/deliverables
Education
• 5+ years experience in supporting MQ on z/OS platform
• Bachelors or Masters in Information Systems, Computer Science or Information Technology
Skills and Knowledge
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• In-depth knowledge of WAS, ODM, WODM and related System software
• In-depth knowledge of multiple specialty areas including z/OS Operating systems
• In-depth knowledge of JCL, VSAM, Control-M, etc
• Experience in a 24x7 Mainframe environment
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to manage overlapping tasks and activities
• Good communications skills with peers, management and business customers
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in the Investment Industry would be a plus
