Architectu [ Submission deadline : 12/15/2016 5:00 p.m ] Description: The Data Governance Consultant is the system-wide expert on business data supporting the data governance effort to define: what data is available, where it is located, how it is structured, what it means, how it is calculated, how it is maintained, and how it is appropriately used to support business decision making. The data governance consultant drives SME coordination by establishing standards for how data stewards execute their activities (the specific work steps, tools used, etc.) and how they communicate their actions to their peer stewards, and upward to the Data Governance Council. The scope of this project encompasses the following tasks: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The following minimum qualifications are required for this engagement: Standard Agreement Number: 2015-XXXX Exhibit 1 • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in data governance, data quality or information management. • Minimum of three (3) years of experience leading and implementing of data governance initiates. • Must have understanding of information technology fundamentals, architecture, and the system development life cycle. • Minimum of five (5) years prior experience implementing and maintaining Data Governance strategic plans and policies enterprise wide • Proven experience working on projects through the entire project lifecycle, while maintaining high customer satisfaction. • He or she is expected to work well with others in a collaborative mode and follow CalPERS Core Values. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS The following qualifications are desirable but not mandatory this engagement: • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience querying data, identifying anomalies, gaps and issues, preferred. • Ability to think strategically and promote the CalPERS Enterprise Data Governance Vision • Ability to reason logically and creatively and use a variety of analytical and research techniques to solve complex problems; analyze situations and propose and effective course of action; analyze data; identify the need for and provide creative thinking related to complex problems, develop and evaluate alternatives. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a demonstrated ability to achieve high customer satisfaction in a high pressure environment. • Strong communication skills and attention to detail • Ability to act as a liaison between technical and business staff/leaders • Knowledge of CalPERS programs and processes Standard Agreement Number: 2015-XXXX Exhibit 1 Page 6 of 10 • Experience working on large-scale projects with multiple contributors, numerous dependencies and a high degree of change. • Proven knowledge of business analysis, process improvement, and relevant experience documenting the current state, business requirements, and designing future state models. • Advanced understanding of a Business-Technology function, based on prior experience working across Business and IT areas. • Experience in tracing data errors, discrepancies, and performing data reconciliation. • Knowledge and ability to interpret programming code (SQL) and data models.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
