The main goal of these positions, similar to the previously released contractor positions, is to improve Idahos GIS data readiness for Next Generation 9-1-1. These positions are with the Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) and BOTH POSITIONS will be involved with: (1) Supporting the Idaho Public Safety and other Technical Working Groups (TWG) under the IGC-EC to support the development and implementation of standards for GIS datasets required and highly recommended for NG9-1-1. (2) Supporting the Idaho Public Safety TWG in the development of best mapping practices for GIS datasets required or highly recommended for NG9-1-1 (3) Working with others on an inventory to assess the quality of NG9-1-1 required data in Idaho to set priorities, and measure progress over time (4) Communicating the need for high quality GIS data for NG9-1-1 to PSAPs and other Stakeholders (5) Developing automated workflows using Python and Python Notebooks In addition, ONE of the two positions will also specifically: (1) Work closely with Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) in South and South-West parts of Idaho (with travel to those locations as necessary) to support data creation, and data QA/QC While the SECOND of the two positions will more specifically: (1) Work with a vendor that will be engaged in implementing Software as a Service (SaaS) that supports workflows between SaaS and GIS Enterprise at ITS, and then coordinate NG9-1-1 GIS readiness in Idaho from an overall State Perspective. This includes ensuring consistency across the State as well with limited travel to meet with all the Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs, generally a city or county) in the State. GIS Analyst 4 (CGA4) The GIS Analyst 4 is responsible for managing large complex GIS programs including customer support, complex analyses, map creation and process automation. The GIS Analyst 4 is responsible for providing managing and/or supporting complex GIS Programs. The CGA will design databases, workflows as well as create data and maps. The CGA can perform complex geospatial analyses and have programming skills to automate tasks and workflows. Activities: Assists in designing and implementing GIS programs and projects using input from various stakeholders and continue coordinating and working with those stakeholders as project progresses. CGA designs databases, workflows and data gathering strategies as well as advise on required GIS infrastructure. GIS Analyst has extensive experience with ArcGIS Software including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Online and can configure out-of-the-box map applications as well as automate processes using Python or create custom applications using JavaScript.
