Data Warehouse Architects are familiar with a variety of database technologies, concepts, methodologies, practices and procedures and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Data Warehouse Architects are able to perform a variety of complicated tasks with minimal or no direct supervision. They assist in defining system and applications architecture and provide vision, problem anticipation, and problem solving ability to the organization. They consult with the client to define needs or issues, conduct reseach, perform studies and surveys to obtain data, and analyze problems to advise on or recommend solutions, utilizing knowledge of theory, principles, or technology of specific discipline of field of specialization. Experience: Six plus years of experience Education: Four year college degree in computer science or related field with advanced study preferred. Role Description: Possesses extensive knowledge of Data Warehouse systems, and is capable of hands-on work in all phases of database design, reporting and management. Designs, develops, and implements Data Warehouse infrastructure to provide highly-complex, reliable, and scalable database, including a longitudinal data mart to meet the organizations reporting objectives and requirements. Analyzes organizations business requirements for data warehouse design, and implements changes to database as required. Performs systems analysis on data warehouse, and resolves performance, capacity, and replication issues as necessary. May perform scrum master duties. Provides detailed design and specification documentation, including flowcharts, for all aspects of the data warehouse. Participates in the identification, prioritization, and development of technical initiatives and strategies. Develops and maintains database standards and naming conventions. May supervise other contractors. Required Skills : This Oracle Data Warehouse Architect determines how data is processed, stored, and reported in an Oracle enterprise system. They provide criteria for data processing operations that make it possible to design data flows and also control the flow of data in the systems. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of Data Warehouse databases, object and segment types, strong data modeling skills that include longitudinal data analysis capabilities, as well as experience with Oracle replication technologies. In addition, in depth knowledge of dimensional data modeling and working knowledge of Business Objects are highly desirable. The Data Warehouse Architect should have extensive experience with Scrum/Agile and may be required to perform scrum master duties. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively interface with people at all levels of the organization, including the executive level are required. The Data Warehouse Architect designs the enterprise data architecture vision, strategy, principles and standards that will be supported by stake-holders, management, business partners, and propagated throughout the company.
