The ETL developer is a person who has proven themselves using a structured and formalized approach, experience with standardized nomenclature and documentation, and at least journeyman experience. Reviewing, understanding and implementing the defined architecture • Reviewing and updating the metadata mappings, rules, and anomalies • Implementing the various ETLs • Legacy EBCDIC-ASCII conversion in Typed Legacy, • Data standardization, validation and anomaly detection and handling in Cleansing • Transformation of data to relational structures in Transform • Delivery of final data in Target • Summary and reporting in Audit Summary History • Summary counts of inputs, outputs, errors and successes for each step • Summary counts of errors by type • Details of errors for defined types • Interacting with technical and non-technical staff as needed for definition of rules, clarification of data and data elements and mappings, and providing feedback and reports and explanations • Participating in a team of technical staff (including other ETL staff) to deliver and optimize a production operational data cleansing and conversion system to support the COAL, Enterprise Customer, and G2 systems Required Skills: • A minimum of 5 years experience in implementing, running and troubleshooting SQL Server ETL mechanisms • Specific experience with using SQL Server 2008 and 2012 SSIS for ETL • Experience with ETL in SQL Server 2012, 2008 or prior versions using SSIS or its predecessor DTS • Advanced experience (5+ years) with design and development of complex SQL Server T-SQL, stored procedure, and ETL package/component including: • Error handling, try/catch and TRANS-based structures • Use of multiple schema in a database • Multiple data sources for input • Multiple outputs depending on error or success of steps • Use of custom- and third-party SSIS add-in components; knowledge or use of MatchIT would be a plus; knowledge or use of Lysine would be nice • Use of fuzzy-logic for data matching and transformation determinations • Data type and value conversions and transformations • Data type and value standardizations • Data type- and value-based validations, including complex dependencies between data field values • Advanced experience with SQL Server database and table modifications (i.e., schemas, tables, fields) • Experience (2+ years) with .NET (C#) programming; knowledge of CLR would be nice • Experience (2+ years) with SSRS and Visual Studio for report development, deployment and delivery • Understanding of basic mainframe concepts • Reading and understanding COBOL copybooks and data dictionaries • Understanding of data type storage concepts (e.g., EBCDIC, COMP, COMP-3, etc.) and conversions to server-based concepts (e.g., ASCII, decimal, etc.) • Understanding of Change Data Capture (CDC) implementations and customizations • Ability to communicate technically (verbally and in writing) with technical DBAs, legacy system developers, and system architects is crucial • Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) with non-technical business subject matter experts, stakeholders and project managers for clarifications, to elucidate rules, and to provide explanations is critical • Though not mandatory, prior experience with data cleansing projects would be a plus • Prior experience with working as a member of a development team would be a plus   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
