Job Description Developer: IT Contract Management, Application Design, Data Modeling, POWER BUILDER SQL Server Experience SSIS

Client : Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA)

Description :

The MBTA is seeking a Senior Software Developer for PowerBuilder 12.x with strong experience in a client-server application environment supporting integrations and custom development. The right candidate must possess a strong technical background and have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects with Agile/Scrum methodology working directly with stakeholders.

Duties:

? Gather and document technical requirements
? Conceptualize, analyze, design, develop, maintain, and implement sound solutions in custom client-server application on a PowerBuilder/SQL Server platform
? Research, test, evaluate and recommend new technology and/or functionality to meet business needs from project initiation through implementation and post-deployment phases.
? Exercise thorough and comprehensive software development methodologies
? Ability to multi-task, provide status updates to various organization levels, and meet all project deadlines
? Create user and system documentation to include procedures, technical specifications, test scripts, user guides, etc.
? Work with technical and non-technical staff and vendors to triage and resolve application and technical problems
? Design, develop, and deploy reports that meet business requirements

Basic Qualifications:

? Bachelors degree and seven years of relevant experience
? Excellent oral and written communication skills
? Effective organization, analytical, multi-tasking, time management and documentation skills
? Experience supporting business processes for financial fund source management, contract management, and budgetary reporting
? Proficiency with application design and data modeling, with an in-depth knowledge of client-server applications, integrations, workflow, and report development using technical tools including but not limited to PowerBuilder 12.x, SQL Server SSIS, SQL query tools, and Microsoft Office suite from PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project, and Visio.
? Ability to work independently or collaboratively, with various levels of users, technical staff, vendors, and stakeholders
? Troubleshoot and resolve all issues accurately and efficiently

Preferred Qualifications:

? Demonstrated experience with Agile/SCRUM methodology
? Experience with technical tools such as Service Now, Beyond Compare, Snag-It, and AQT
? Track record for being detail-oriented, strong leadership qualities, and able to handle quick context changes amongst priorities and projects
