Description :

SQL Database Developer
6 month contract to hire
Baltimore, MD

Client is seeking a Senior Database Developer to develop SQL stored procedures, programs, services and queries and optimize SQL based on query plan interpretation and other available tools. Duties include:
Conduct debugging, and ensure change packages are accurate and can be backed out if necessary.
Create assemblies, programs, services and business logic using C# .Net
Oversee assigned systems such that all environments in the migration path are synchronized.
Create database and SSIS jobs as needed and set them up to be deployed into the Testing and Production environments.
Forward engineer schema changes using the modeling tools and review proposed schema designs with the architects as necessary.
Configure Web/Application/Reporting servers as needed.
Stay abreast of industry trends including application and back-end development using Microsoft toolsets.
Conduct Requirements Analysis to ensure adequate requirements are created for development projects.
Provide technical leadership and direction for offshore resources assigned to projects by management and set priorities and delegate tasks when needed.
Independently provide time and resource estimates for assigned projects.


Experience and Skills

Minimum Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math or related (will accept 3- or 4-year bachelors degree) and 5 years of experience involving all phases of enterprise database design and development, including MS SQL 2005/2008. Experience must include:
4 years of experience with MS SQL Server 2005 and/or 2008
3 years of experience with T-SQL, writing stored procedures, triggers, and user defined functions, debugging applications,
optimizing SQL, database design and data modeling
2 years of experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS)
Demonstrated expert at database schema logical and physical design in an enterprise environment.
Proven analytical skills interpreting and implementing business and functional requirements.
Experience working with XML.
3 years C# development experience;
Experience troubleshooting enterprise scale SQL Server databases and applications;
Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.
Experience may be gained concurrently.
