Job Summary
This position serves as a audiovisual engineer by providing audiovisual design and implementation for audiovisual systems, such as smart classroom technology, digital signage, and remote conferencing equipment; supervises new installations of audiovisual equipment to ensure proper completion and compliance with standards and codes set by the College; reviews and communicates effectively as it relates to architectural design drawings, blueprints, and line drawings submitted by external companies for projects with audiovisual elements to ensure AV standards are met; and ensures existing audiovisual technology updates and outages are addressed in a timely and professional manner.

Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

*Develops functional designs for new and existing audiovisual technology solutions for digital signage, classrooms, conference rooms, lecture halls, and specialized learning spaces based on client-defined criteria.
*Generates high-quality audiovisual infrastructure and systems signal flow drawings with sufficient detail to inform integrators/technicians.
*Reviews architectural designs, blueprints, and line drawings for facilities and buildings related to audiovisual technology for functionality, usability, and compliance to standards; submits required drawing comments to ensure standards are being adhered to during design phase of construction projects.
*Leads planning efforts by collaborating with project stakeholders to determine functional requirements and provide technical expertise in audiovisual and classroom technology projects.
*Serves as a high-level technical expert for audiovisual related devices and software applications used in college business process and academic environments.
*Provides guidance to faculty and staff regarding audiovisual standards, audiovisual technology use and maintenance, and audiovisual technology sustainability and lifecycle.
*Creates, obtains, and maintains proper documentation and specifications for audiovisual technology, use of audiovisual solutions, proper maintenance procedures for audiovisual technologies, and records of audiovisual technology levels, locations, and usage.
*Conducts research and evaluates new and emerging technologies relating to audiovisual technologies as they relate to college business needs and continuously maintains an expert understanding of audiovisual technology and developments within the industry.
*Performs site walk-through visits and system testing to ensure adherence to standards and functional requirements of system installations.
*Mentors and trains audiovisual team on new and existing technologies.
*Responds to emergency situations as needed, during and after normal business hours, to identify, assess, and mitigate critical operational issues.
*Manages the Colleges audiovisual standards and implementation guidelines.
*Directs vendor services to repair, replace, or install audiovisual equipment as needed.
*Actively contributes to technical planning and life cycle replacement for audiovisual equipment.
