The resource will work closely with NCDOT ITs Project Manager, Solutions Architect and Data Architect to define, coordinate, document and develop data transformation/ETL solutions for the Data Management and Governance project under the DMV Modernization program. This individual will be experienced in ETL concepts, techniques and best practices. This individual will also be proficient in the tools required to deliver ETL solutions (e.g., Microsoft Integration Services.) This ETL developer will be responsible for writing packages to extract, transform and load data based on requirements defined for this project. This is a consulting position that will also require gathering business requirements and working with data architects, data modelers and business subject matter experts and transition of knowledge to State employees. Required Skills: • Design and develop data integration/ETL packages using SQL Server Integration Services, TSQL and Stored Procedures • ETL Experience including; o Integrating data from heterogeneous systems (flat files, relations etc.) o Creating complex ETL jobs that use containers, tasks, constraints, variables, parameters etc. o Performance tuning jobs by identifying bottlenecks in the ETL process o Hands on implementation of Change Data Capture strategy • Master data Management knowledge in the following areas; o Meta Data o Master Data Models o Data Stewardship and Governance o Enterprise Canonical Data Models and Canonical Message Schema • Experience performing code reviews, analyzing execution plans, and creating/executing test plans • Support of system tests, troubleshoot customer issues and correct database defects • Experience collaborating with business analysts, subject matter experts, and other team members to determine requirements • Be able to take directions and complete tasks on-time with minimal supervision • Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills Desired Skills: • Understanding and experience with Microsoft platforms, including SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Data Quality Services (DQS), Windows OS and SQL Server Reporting Services, . • At least 1 year of report writing experience using a graphical report writer • Knowledge of physical database administration with SQL Server a plus • Experience in the area of Data Quality including the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose data issues   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
