NCAOC manages and supports a 7000 seat, 100 county network with more than 390 servers and all integrated application and resource technology. The purpose of this position is to deploy and support data backup and archiving systems within a Windows environment and team with existing staff engineers to ensure system integrity of, and to support and enhance the centralized EMC Networker, Symantec NetBackup, and Enterprise Vault technologies. Implementing necessary changes or upgrades, supporting technology issues while working in conjunction with vendor technology experts, and to ensure continuation of proper operational support activities Key infrastructure systems that operate within the WinTel environment include Windows Server Operating Systems, Active Directory (AD), Group Policy, Distributed File System (DFS), Project Server, SQL Server, Internet Information Services (ITS), LANDesk, VMware, Microsoft Office, SharePoint Services (MOSS), EMC Networker backup application and Symantec NetBackup and Enterprise Vault. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Thorough knowledge and demonstrated experience in implementation and support of all versions of Windows server operating systems, deploying and supporting EMC Networker (preferred) or other backup applications, data collection technology, in a virtualized (VMware) environment is required, as well as, strong knowledge and experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, knowledge of Cisco MDS switched SAN fabric, EMC storage, and Cisco ACE module is preferred. Strong working knowledge of basic project management best practices and methodologies. Prepares all Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) plans to organize large activities into smaller, more manageable tasks and steps via a proven methodology. Interpersonal skills include the ability to mentor, lead, coordinate teams, analyze, design and follow-through with multiple complex automated systems for use within the Judicial Branch of State government; organize; prepare accurate and well-written documentation; interact with management, other staff, other offices and other agencies. Coordinate with other project leads and other agencies. No overnight travel is expected; but, candidates must be available for in-state travel if deemed necessary.
