S/he will develop and manage IT related contracts, manage the selection/development, installation and testing of new software, software upgrades, and server configuration, manage system planning and development, oversee technical components of software pilot testing, establish user account protocols, establish procedures for data access, security, privacy and integrity, conduct research for utilization of new technology, determine software and hardware needs for the system and answer technical questions specific to the application. This position serves as the liaison between the business end users and applications developers. Job Duties: This position is responsible for working with the Syndromic Surveillance Event Detection of Nebraska (SSEDON) infrastructure to support Syndromic Surveillance use as a public health surveillance system component. This position serves as functional lead on the business process to receive and process the Syndromic Surveillance public health surveillance data as it relates to the Opioid Crisis Response grant. This includes coordinating work efforts, prepares project/work plans, monitors work progress and prepares project progress report; confers with grant team to determine the business needs and requirements, analyzes business processes, documents existing business process and proposed modified process and documents appropriate business rules, policies and standards. This position will communicate with the application developers the business requirements, develop business process solutions, system specifications, communicate with appropriate staff on identified malfunctions, may provide training/assistance to end users, analyzes business system operation/function solutions for feasibility, documents business system operation/functions and proposed changes/modifications, participates in system analysis and design, performs system testing and assists in database building and maintenance. Ability to identify client needs and provide solutions is key to the success of our Business Analyst. Communication skills must be strong and proven. 1.
