Description :

This position is located in the information management organization of the Nebraska Army
National Guard (NEARNG) within the GuardNet enclave of the Department of Defense
Information Network (DoDIN). This position works within the Joint Force Headquarters
(JFHQ) G6 Directorate of Information Management (DOIM). This work includes serving as a
security systems administrator, managing enterprise server, virtual server (VMWare vSphere and
vCenter), NAC (ForeScout) and anti-virus (McAfee) solutions; utilizing Tenable ACAS to
conduct security health checks of clients, servers, and network devices; designing, implementing,
and maintaining quarantine procedures; managing McAfee/HBSS servers and clients, defining,
assessing and recommending security solutions to NEC personnel and assisting the NEC staff in
resolving security client problems; creating, configuring and documenting user accounts and
processes; completing documentation and coordinating with national level (NGB) IT security
personnel or other information technology staff (e.g., server admins, helpdesk staff). All work
performed falls within the constraints of AR 25-1, 25-2 as well as CYBERCOM, NETCOM,
NGB and NEARNG NEC directives.
This position supports all members of the NEARNG and Nebraska Military Department (NMD).
This position works directly with G6 information technology staff to include Network
Enterprise Center (NEC) staff and System Support Help Desk staff. This position also
occasionally coordinates with RTI, SASMO, Aviation and Recruiting & Retention IT staff on
issue resolution. This position also coordinates directly with supervisors of other directorates
and units to communicate quarantine remediation actions.

Mandatory Position Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen (proof of citizenship required upon selection)
Associates Degree in computer science, information technology or related technology field OR
3 years equivalent experience in information technology, preferably

General Duties
1. Assists with configuration and management of all physical and virtual servers
2. Assists in the security checks (STIG compliance) of all physical and virtual servers
3. Coordinates with ISSO/ISSM for scanning, monitoring and logging network security
requirements
4. Documents all changes for record
5. Provides documentation and configuration in system administrator meetings
6. Assists in small scale planning projects in coordination with other directorates
7. Coordinates with G6 staff for security system problem resolution
8. Promotes complex issues to technical specialists at National Guard Bureau as
appropriate
9. Resolves complex security problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth
evaluation of various factors
10. Manages NEARNG network requests via tickets submitted by users/supervisors
Technical Duties
1. Receives, processes and creates network user accounts in enterprise Active Directory
servers. Includes validation of requests and permissions assignments.
2. Manages broad array of virtual servers through VMWare vCenter in coordination with
system administrators.
3. Monitors and coordinates changes on ForeScout CounterAct Network Access Controller
(NAC) to include endpoint management functions
4. Monitors trouble ticket system for immediate actions and escalates tickets as required
5. Manages enterprise HBSS / McAfee anti-virus solution to include quarantine, update
services, RSD deployment and taking corrective actions on endpoint clients to ensure
security compliance
6. Applies SCAP tool and STIG process to servers and client devices to ensure consistent
