We have a 30-month project with our client in Albany, NY that requires a Database Systems Administrator, Expert Day-to-Day Tasks include, but not limited to: The consultant will be performing database upgrades, applying patches to the database, handling general file and system maintenance, and participating in an on-call rotation that will address routine issues as well as emergencies that arise. The staff member will also need to support one of the agencies (HCR) ongoing efforts to migrate to a new platform as required. They will also be needed to handle RACF security requests and testing for annual operating system upgrades. There are monthly meetings with DCH Mainframe where attendance and participation will be required. Mandatory Qualifications: Maintains the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems; especially multi-user computers, such as servers. Ensures that the uptime, performance, resources and security of the computers he or she manages meet the needs of the users. 84+ Months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field. Preferred Qualifications: 84 months experience administering and supporting a Model 204 (M204) environment. Experience must include working with M204 backup and recovery, installation of M204 software and Early Warnings, and working with IBM mainframe disk storage. 84 months experience upgrading M204 environments. This must include an upgrade to V7.6 or higher 48 months experience writing and running JCL jobs on an IBM z/OS LPAR, using TSO to facilitate JCL job creation and submission. 48 months experience creating and debugging M204 User Language procedures. 48 months experience in M204 Database Administration. This includes the DICTIONARY, and SUBSYSMGMT subsystems.
