Job Description Developer: Development Experience, Managing Team Dynamics, Large Scale Applications, SQL CSS HtmlXhtml J2EE

Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Operational Risk Framework and internal Policies and Standards.
X Lead a team of approximately 10-15 developers for FO Risk & Control IT. Planning, scheduling, and allocating resources across multiple streams of work. Monitoring progress and the quality of work and taking remedial action where necessary to correct deviations. Performing performance reviews and appraisal of development team members. Point of escalation for all development team issues.
X Front to back design, development and implementation of new components within the client management platform.
X Level 3 development support of production systems and batch processes. Assist in the investigation of production issues; provide tactical and strategic solutions.

Person Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
X Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Management or related discipline or equivalent experience
X 5+ years development experience within the financial services industry.
X 5+ years experience managing teams of 10 or more individuals.
X 5+ years experience with delivery of large scale, enterprise systems.

X Very strong and confident communicator in both verbal and written communications.
X Skilled at identifying conflict within teams and resolving quickly and agreeably.

X Ability to work under pressure to deliver to committed timescales.
X Encourage active involvement of the team in suggesting improvements to productivity and quality.
X Leadership in developing staff to broaden the scope and effectiveness of their roles.
X Strong basic technical skills with demonstrated ability to learn further.
X Exemplary team player.
X A good understanding of the investment banking business will be an advantage.
X Good understanding of best code development and deployment practices.

Preferred Technologies
X J2EE V design and develop using Java Server stack.
X Proficient with of object relational mapping tools such as Hibernate.
X Hand on Experience with Spring Framework Spring MVC / JDBC / ORM / Transaction / Caching
X Hands on experience with building RESTful services using Spring Controller
X Spring/Hibernate: design and develop J2ee application using these
X Database design and develop using SQL Server 2005/2008
X Working knowledge of J2EE application servers using Tomcat
X Working knowledge of Coherence Grid Caching
X Experience with JavaScript libraries like JQuery/Ext JS
X Front-end web design experience using CSS and HTML.
X JUnit V able to follow continuous integration, test driven development approach using JUnit and Cruise Control
X Ant/Maven V able to develop and run build scripts using Ant. Maven would be an advantage.
X Packaging and Managing release process for entitlements.
X Linux -Create and maintain shell scripts.
