WebSphere, IHS, Tomcat, Apache,) Middleware Administrators are expected to contribute where appropriate to the defining of best practices as well as the creating and contributing to Nationwide accelerators. Must possess thought leadership in the identified technologies including but not limited to sharing of industry trends, educating leadership and advancing of team skillsets. Ideal candidate will have deep knowledge and experience with open source App and web server products (specifically Tomcat and Apache). Secondary responsibilities will include documenting best practices, automating build functions, and provide skills uplift training to peer engineers. 5 years of experience required. Additionally, administrators will be expected to support, configure, and troubleshoot application servers (WebSphere/Tomcat/JBoss/WebLogic) and web servers (IHS/Apache/IIS) for compliance to the established Nationwide SLAs (this is a 7 day a week, 24x7 service) • Able to coordinate and communicate with other teams for example; application support/development, infrastructure teams, project managers, and support teams to resolve incidents or to complete work requests. • Professional verbal and written communication skills • Experience with both Linux/UNIX Systems and Windows Systems in a large scale corporate environment to administer the installed Middleware products regardless of platform. • Fundamental understanding of the following concepts: J2EE, Secure Sockets Layers, Secure Certificates, Load Balancing, Application / JVM Tuning, and multi-tiered architectures. • Follow Enterprise IT Security best practices – have a clear understanding of security concepts and best practices and the implementation within the Middleware environments. o Patching – implementation of vendor provided fixes for defects, performance enhancements or security related issues. o Secure Configuration review and implementation. Review reported findings and adjust configurations back into Nationwide secure compliance. o Internal Audit controls o Vulnerability (CVE) assessment and remediation • Follow proper Change controls for testing, implementation and validation for all Middleware products changes/modifications and complete work related to Known Errors, Problem tickets, Problem tasks, Root Cause Analysis research and resolution. Essential Skills (3+ years of Administration experience): • IBM WebSphere ND Application Server Admin • Linux/UNIX Systems Administration (RHEL/SLES, zLinux) • IHS/Apache Administration • IIS – Microsoft Internet Information Services • Scripting (Python/Jython/Shell/Pearl/wsadmin/Powershell) • Enterprise IT Security best practices • Fundamental understanding of the following concepts: J2EE, Secure Sockets Layers, Secure Certificates, Load Balancing, Application / JVM Tuning, and multi-tiered architectures. • Must be a team player and comfortable in a large support role. • Must have strong Customer Service disciplines and excellent communications skills in order to support and maintain "24x7" uptime for Enterprise web applications. • Ability to use operational metrics to support continuous improvement • Proven problem solving and analytical competencies. • Expert knowledge with Change, Incident and Problem Management • Project Management experience a plus   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
