Description :

This Public Health Educator/Program Director serves as lead for all TDH-driven immunization efforts in Tennessee. The position is in the Vaccine-Preventable Diseases and Immunization Program (VPDIP) within the Communicable and Environmental Diseases and Emergency Preparedness Program (CEDEP) at the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH). This position will report to the Director of Program Effectiveness and work closely with the medical director. Job duties include:

· Overseeing all efforts to improve immunization coverage rates among Tennessee adults, including rates for COVID-19, annual influenza, human papillomavirus, hepatitis, and other routine immunizations.

· Responsible for developing and maintaining community partnerships to increase community-wide implementation of vaccination recommendations.

· Develop and implement activities to address vaccination coverage disparities among disproportionately affected populations.

· Providing guidance, support, and technical assistance to Tennessees 13 public health jurisdictions and private providers on immunization efforts.

· Writing and maintaining pertinent sections of the programs CDC-funded cooperative agreement and supplemental funding grants

· Assessing participation and use of providers with the immunization information system (IIS) among adult vaccine providers and working with IIS staff to address gaps in IIS use.

· Collating information and promote use of patient assistance programs offered by vaccine manufacturers and other partners to assist providers in utilizing these resources for vaccinating uninsured adults.

· Represent VPDIP on workgroups, at conferences, and stakeholder meetings pertaining to adult immunization rates, including ImmunizeTN, the National Adult Immunization Summit, HPV Roundtable and others



Minimum Qualifications

· 3-5 years project management experience

· Bachelors degree from an accredited university

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Strong work ethic and assertiveness

· Open to <10% in-state travel



Desired Qualifications

· Experience in public health

· Experience in Immunizations work

· Experience with working with coalitions and community partners
