The Senior Middleware Administrator applies deep technical expertise in Tuxedo and other middleware technologies, to the design, implementation, testing, and ongoing support CalWIN middleware infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities

· Troubleshoots and resolves Tuxedo issues across development, testing, and production environments.

· Performs deployments of custom and Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) code/software.

· Installs, configures, and manages clustered Tuxedo applications located in HP Data Centers, working with internal service groups as required to ensure system availability and uptime meet project requirements.

· Develops scripts to automate systems administration and monitoring activities.

· Analyzes monitoring results to produce and implement recommendations for improving performance and operational efficiency of middleware components.

· Works with CalWIN Architects on issues related to middleware infrastructure design and architecture, including clustering and scalability, and assists with Proof Of Concept testing.

· Works with peers within and beyond the Middleware team to define and characterize complex technology or process problems and develop & implement new solutions.

· As needed, assists with the development of white papers, proposals, deliverables, and other documentation.

Required Experience & Skills

· 3-5 years of Tuxedo Server administration experience in a large production environment.

· Ability to work night and weekend shifts as needed.

· Ability to exercise independent judgment in driving technical problems to resolution.

· Excellent troubleshooting and root cause-analysis skills.

· Excellent working knowledge of UNIX/Linux server technologies, including Korn shell scripting using gzip, gunzip, find, ssh, scp, ftp/sftp, tar, sed, grep, awk.

· Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

· Familiarity with SDLC and/or other systems development methodologies.

· Ability to mentor other team members in areas of technical expertise.

· Strong Working knowledge of

o Database technologies, preferably Oracle.

o Local and Wide area networking technologies.

o Storage technologies including SAN.

Desired Experience & Skills

· Experience with Corticon Business Rules Engine, WebLogic, WebSphere, ADF Runtime 11.1.x, Oracle Service Bus, Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g/12c, LDAP services, SAP Business Objects Administration, F5 Load Balancers, VMWare and Windows Server technologies or equivalents.

· Experience installing and administering Commercial Off The Shelf tools packages such as CA Service Desk, IBM Rational ClearQuest, and SharePoint.

· Working knowledge of SQL*Plus

· 3-5 years of experience working in an outsourced/managed services environment. Experience developing project plans and work breakdown structures.
