Part of this effort includes creating the infrastructure to support the new system. The new system will be Microsoft Windows based using MS-SQL Server databases. Much of the system will be virtualized. The project will be rolled out in four phases over the next 3 years. in this position the individual will be expected to build servers, databases, make network connections, and allocate storage. This is a senior position that requires extensive experience and knowledge of new technologies. Responsibilities: - Support current hardware - Support the DMV Modernization project as a technical subject matter expert - Assist with the design, development and deployment of a large scale tiered windows application infrastructure. - Assist with the design, development and support of a large interactive data warehouse infrastructure. - Assist with the design, development and support of SOA based application messaging infrastructure. - Specify, develop, deploy and support application monitoring and alerting systems. Required Skills: Knowledge of Storage Area Networks: • Develop specifications for purchase • Install and configure systems for use • Allocate storage for system use • Patch and perform routine maintenance • Troubleshoot issues when they arise • Configure fiber infrastructures for interconnecting systems • Establish storage standards and policies Knowledge of Server technologies: • Develop specifications for purchase • Install and configure systems for use • Patch and perform routine maintenance • Troubleshoot issues when they arise • Advanced knowledge of windows server technologies Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware and Hyper-V): • Develop specifications for purchase • Install and configure systems for use • Patch and perform routine maintenance • Troubleshoot issues when they arise • Establish provisioning guidelines and standards • Install, configure, manage Cisco UCS platform • Develop and deploy server virtualization strategies using Vmware., EMC. And Cisco UCS • Design and support server disaster recovery strategies Knowledge of networks: • Experience configuring system to operate appropriately in a networked environment • Ability to assist in troubleshooting issues when they arise • Basic network configuration skills • Advanced knowledge of A10 load balancers.
